Eating Out...Prep Kitchen
This past Sunday we decided to go back to Little Italy and check out Prep Kitchen. Which we had spotted while we were on our walk last week. I didn't know much about it other than that I loved their huge corner window. I went online and found out that they have a $3.50 tapas happy hour. Only that when it came to drinks their happy hour left much to be desired, they only offer a $5 glass of sangria, no beer, no liquor. Don't get me wrong, their sangria was good, but you can't call that a happy hour. Now, their tapas on the other had were absolutely yummy. We had (in order of yumminess) the patatas bravas (crunchy potato chunks with spicy sauce), bacon wrapped dates (just wow), brussel sprouts with bacon and walnuts, the pork Rillettes and the clams... yeah we were hungry. For dessert we had the banana bread pudding a la mode, this was without a doubt the most delicious bread pudding I have ever had, in fact it was one of the most delicious desserts I've have period. We can't wait to go back and actually have dinner there, they gave us a coupon for free dessert on our next visit (so, yeah were coming back).

Lately I've been scavenging etsy for home decore. I don't have a house, but I'm obsessed with starting the decorating process for my pretend house, that I own in my mind. Here are some of the prints I'm acquiring, so far.

Awake and Unreal, Off to Nowhere
We had a day off earlier in the week, so we decided to have lunch and take a stroll through Little Italy.
Cliff and I shared my favorite turkey pastrami sandwich from Mona Lisa Deli. I love early afternoons on days off. I didn't get a change to take a pictures of my delicious sub, because I was so hungry after walking that I just scarfed it down.

Y' know my wandering days are over
While we were in Palm Springs last weekend, we had the opportunity to explore the neighborhoods around our hotel with our bikes courtesy of the Ace Hotel and Swim Club. We were lucky enough to find a neat little neighborhood with a pool and take some pictures. I seriously love Palm Springs, mostly because its always warm, the people are friendly and most of the homes are mid-century cool...more on that to come.
...and a hipstamatic for good measure.

Valentines weekend
Maybe we should just move to Palm Springs! We've thought about it, but if we move there it will no longer be our relaxation spot, but our work spot and I don't want that. We spent a wonderful, wonderful Valentines weekend at the ACE Hotel Palm Springs. The weather in San Diego was cold and rainy and so was the trip out to the desert, but as soon as we were on the other side of the San Jacinto Mountains i.e. Palm Springs the sky was completely clear and the weather was warm. We spent 3 days by the pool and exploring the town on our bikes. Geez, it was sublime. We are already planning another trip out there in May...I'll just day dream 'till then.
