I'm getting bugged driving up and down the same old strip

So... yesterday was somewhat uneventful, but I don't want to stop my posting groove, so here are some pictures of what I wore. This the jovovich-hawk for target dress (yes, yes, I'm obsessed with jovovich-hawk) I didn't buy it when the collection came out at target, because I was so disappointed in the low quality fabrics they used. Anyway a year later I saw this dress on a blog and fell in love with it. A year after that I was able to find it on ebay for $10, but in a size 13. Not wanting to pass it up I bough it and took to my tailor and he transformed it into a size 5. I think it makes me look a little top heavy, but no matter. I still think it looks cute. I hope we're able to do something fun today.

We had to take a picture of this snail perched on the stem of a flower. I've always liked snails, but ever since we've started growing veggies in our backyard I'm not liking them so much since they try to eat all of the lettuce. Anyway here's a snail I've always loved from the original Dr. Doolittle with the always lovely Rex Harrison. I wanted to live inside its shell like they did at then end of the movie, it looked so pink and whimsical.

Jackson, Johnston and Roe

I just discovered their spring 2011 collection... and their designs in general. Here are a few pieces I would love take with me on trips to vegas and palm springs. Their nearest retailer is in San Fran and they haven't set up their online shop yet. Still, I'm determined to own a few of these outfits.

Bottega Louie = ♥

Today we finally made the trip up to Bottega Louie. The pastries as so yummy that I'm angry with myself for not going sooner. Their macaroons are delicious, as well as their chocolate eclairs and raspberry tart and their chocolate financier... just to name a few, I ate a lot. Cliff and I met up with a good friend and had a lovely day.

There are so many pretty clothes out there right now, here are a few from American Gold, tba and Winter Kate, that I want to add to my closet.

The SS 2011 American Gold line. I like that their inspired by indian summers, sleeping under the stars at joshua tree and flea markets. I'm a sucker for American Gold, here are my favorites.

Another part of me loves and secretly wants to be Wendy Darling, which is what tba-to be adored is all about.
These pieces are from the Spring/Summer 2011 Collection, except for the sofia dress which is from a few collections back, but is absolutely gorgeous. I love peter pan collars, I would buy a an empty can of coca-cola if it was wearing a peter pan collar.

Last is the Winter Kate opy jacket that I had my hands on, but decided not to buy. It was on sale!!!
Now, I regret my decision, but it's sold out everywhere except for ebay where it's going for $300. Ugh! I'll wait a few months and maybe prices will go down, pretty please?

A lost love, Jovovich-Hawk

My favorite designers are the now long gone Jovovich-Hawk. Once I got my first "real" job I starte buying pieces here and there. I love their prairie/disco/boho/hippie/flapper vibe, it's very different from the stuff thats out there. Their pieces are whimsical and a bit costume-y, that's what I loved.

This Dress took me 3 years of lusting to finally find and acquire. Now, I just have to get it a little taken in. I really cannot wait to wear it. I don't really have anywhere to wear it to in the next week, so I guess grocery shopping at trader joes will have to do.

Iggy Dress
I just got this one. It's made of wool and the weather in California does not warrant wool other than (maybe) December-February. So we'll see when I wear this. This is another piece I need to take in.

At first they said they would put the brand on hiatus, but looks like it's most likely been put to bed. But maybe just maybe milla and carmen can come together after making movies and taking pictures and keep making beautiful clothes that I can spend my money on. Until then, I'll keep hunting on ebay.
